We began the process on Mother’s Day weekend. Hoping to be “ahead” of last year (I planted a week after Memorial Day). This was a 2 day process. We wanted to expand last year’s plot, but we were up against a lot of uneven ground.
We tilled one way, then the next, and did it again. Finally with that done (rear tine tiller well worth the $50 to rent from UBC for the weekend) we had to start the process of getting the ground more even. This was an interesting prospect since we had nothing but creativity to do it with.
I first started by using a railing off a porch we tore down last year, but it just didn’t cut it. So, my resourceful MR. came up with this – and, it worked spendidly! (Like the muck boots?)
